Sabine Steiner - Co-Editor-in-Chief - Global Journal of Angiology

Sabine Steiner, MD, MSc, Department of Interventional Angiology, Medical University Leipzig, Germany (since 2014). Interventional Angiologist, graduated from Medicine University Vienna, Austria in 2000 and specialized in Internal Medicine (2006) and Angiology (2008). She received her state doctorate/Venia docendi (habilitation) in Internal Medicine from the University of Vienna, Austria, in 2006. She worked as a senior physician at the Department of Internal Medicine II with an appointment as Assistant Professor (2011-2012) and subsequent as Associate Professor (until 2014) at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Since 2014 she helds the position of a senior physician at the Department of Interventional Angiology, Medical University Leipzig, Germany.   Dr. Steiner received an Erwin Schroedinger fellowship of the Austrian Science Fund and spent two years at the Ottawa Heart Institute Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre, Canada as a research fellow (2009-2011). During this time course she successfully completed a Master of Science in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa, Canada.   Dr. Steiner is the author of over 50 publications, 20 of them as first or last author. She has a broad scientific background focusing on various aspects of vascular medicine (angiogenesis, anticoagulation, epidemiology, endovascular interventions). She has given several international and national invited talks and has been selected for the invited faculty of several meetings of the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC). She is a regular reviewer for various, prestigious journals in the field of cardiovascular Medicine.
